American Kestrel
American Kestrel (Falco sparverius) is America's smallest falcon, and is widely distributed. Plumage differences make separation of male and female possible in the field. It feeds on insects, small lizards and snakes, occasionally small birds. All images from Gilbert Water Ranch.
