Inca Dove (Columbina inca) is a small shy dove of the desert southwest. Plumage appears scaled from dark tips to feathers. It flashes red underwings as a display to other doves and sometimes other species. Often seen huddled in multi-layered stacks to share warmth. All images made at various locations in AZ.
